For Jacob Hamblin, it all comes down to the story. Weaving together heartfelt lyrics with a classic country sound, his music speaks to the timeless themes of small-town life, love, heartbreak, and the challenges of growing up. His songs feel lived-in, grounded in the traditions of country music while carrying a fresh, authentic voice.
Hailing from Alpine, Mississippi, Hamblin grew up immersed in the sounds of country radio and the stories shared over sweet tea on back porches. That upbringing shaped his sound, which blends the best of classic country songwriting with a modern edge. In 2024, he teamed up with Reginald Furtick’s Magnolia Records to begin releasing his music to the world, starting with his first single "What Do You Want".
Through Furtick’s Studio B, he eventually connected with the talented multi-instrumentalist and music producer, Scotty Young. Together, their passion for music and honest storytelling quickly caught the attention of local audiences and social media followers across Northeast Mississippi. With a promising career on the horizon, and after being introduced to his studio’s drummer, Derrick Bogan, the four gentlemen committed themselves to crafting songs that resonate with listeners and remind them of the power of a good story.
This is where Jacob’s music took a turn for the better. With Scotty Young playing bass and keys, and Derrick Bogan making drums look easier than grandma’s pie, he knew they were lacking a certifiable guitarist. Eventually, the group went on to hire both Ronnie Duckworth (steel), and Jon Sheppard (rhythm). Together they are Jacob Hamblin and the Frontier Co.
